Horse riding holidays in Portugal at Pinetrees

Located on Portugal's Algarve coast in the heart of 'Sportugal' between Vale do Lobo and Quinta do Lago, Pinetrees is perfect for any horse rider with a golf, tennis or water sports mad partner. Run by Beverley Gibbons, this small centre is ABRS approved, with a very high standard of training and good local hacking. It's great for families and ideal for any rider who wants to concentrate on improving their riding (dressage or jumping) while still enjoying a little local hacking. In the evening you can try out some of the excellent local restaurants and nightlife. Pinetrees has a very friendly multi-lingual team as well as numerous dogs, horses and ponies, who all do their best to make your Pinetrees riding holiday a happy one.

TAILOR MADE FOR YOU

Riding through the lagoon Pinetrees is a very well established Algarve centre with an excellent standard of classical riding tuition and a high percentage of return guests. Because the area is popular for holiday homes most of their clients will be staying at their villas at Vale do Lobo or Quinta do Lago. So while there are few people staying at the centre, it is often very popular during the day.

The beauty of Pinetrees is it's size and flexibility. If you'd rather come Saturday to Saturday, or Sunday to Sunday that's usually no problem. If you'd like to spend more time riding out than riding in the school, no problem. If you really need to concentrate on the basics or improving your dressage or jumping, that's fine. Beverley will always try to be helpful, whether you are an experienced rider or a novice.

Bev offers classical training combined with local trail riding for up to 6 guests staying at her Pinetrees villa, for novices and intermediate riders. The weight limit is 14 stone (89kg)

FULL OR HALF BOARD?

You can decide if you would rather book a full or half board riding holiday. Most people prefer to book half board so they can enjoy working their way through the dozens of excellent local restaurants that are within easy reach! Continental breakfast and a light lunch are provided at the villa, within the half board rate.

Full board guests will enjoy dinner in the villa or out at a local restaurant with Beverley.

SELF-CATERING VILLA OPTION

villa pool and patio For those people who would rather self-cater in a villa of their own, we can now offer the option during summer months (June – September) of a riding holiday where you stay at the nearby Villa Veseter.

This traditionally furnished local villa has a beautiful well established garden, pool, sauna and air conditioning and is only 10-15 mins walk away from Pinetrees. More>>

10 OR 15 HOURS RIDING?

Fifteen hours in the saddle spread over a week may not seem much but when you add the heat of a Portuguese summer, inexperienced riders may find it a bit too much and would cope better with just 10 hours riding. It is worth thinking carefully before you book.

A GREAT GROUP HOLIDAY

With a maximum of six people riding and staying at Beverley's villa at any time, it's the perfect place to bring a small riding club group, particularly during the winter months when riding's so hard in the UK and northern Europe.

WEATHER AND CLOTHING

The weather on this part of the Algarve is generally good throughout the year. Even during the winter it's usually possible to ride out in a waistcoat or sweatshirt. Pinetrees is an ABRS Approved Centre, so they will insist that you wear an approved hat and footwear. While it's best to bring your own, it is possible to borrow jods, hats and boots although they can't guarantee you will always find an exact fit.
