Exploring at Pinetrees

THE AREA

Situated only ten minutes from the coast, Pinetrees is the perfect location for exploring mile after mile of beautiful beaches and to enjoy the many watersports they have to offer, particularly if you hire a car.

Although the immediate area has been carefully developed with luxury villas, golf courses and tennis courts, you can be deep in the countryside in minutes. As the name suggests, Pinetrees is surrounded by umbrella pines that stretch along the coast, while inland the scenery turns to rolling hills.

The nearest town, Almancil has become an important centre for providing supporting services to feed the needs of two nearby stylish holiday and residential developments; Quinta do Lago and Vale do Lobo.

In keeping with the upmarket developments there is an excellent selection of restaurants offering many different forms of cuisine. Also, as you might expect there are a good number of real estate offices, interior decorators and furnishing shops.

To the east of Almancil is the district of São Lourenço. The church here is well worth a visit as it is covered inside with beautiful 18th Century ceramic tiles and is an outstanding example in the Algarve.

Also, very close by you will find the São Lourenço Cultural Centre, the home of regular art exhibitions and music events.
