Centro Ippico Orthal is a family run horse riding holiday centre and comfortable hotel located at Asiago, on a stunning plateau 1,000m above sea level in the Italian Alps. Throughout the winter it is a bustling ski centre, but in June and October the mountains, forests and alpine pastures become perfect horse riding country that's just waiting to be explored.
RIDING THE HIGH PLAINS OF THE ITALIAN ALPS
This
is the ideal riding holiday for any rider looking for free open spaces for riding out, with
the added opportunity for walking, mountain biking, white water rafting,
canoeing, river walking, gliding, golf, and many other outdoor activities
for themselves or their non-riding partner.
The town is just a short bike ride away with a swimming pool, ice skating rink, museum, spa hotel where you can have a massage and treatment and an excellent range of interesting shops, bars and restaurants. Cheese and honey shops are found in abundance!
The hotel and riding centre are run by the two Rigoni brothers, Massimo and Paolo. Massimo, an experienced Federazione Italiana di Sport Equestri instructor runs the riding school while Paolo manages the hotel and restaurant, where they will tempt you with their culinary expertise. Both brothers speak good English and English ex-pat Nikki Clover who lives locally will be there to welcome you, explain the schedule and respond to any queries during your stay.

From May-July and September-October weather in this part of Italy is generally good for horse riding. However like most mountain regions it can quickly change. During these times it is possible to ride in a sweat shirt, although it's sensible to bring wet weather gear and an extra fleece or jumper. - Non-Riding: £400
- Minimum riding age - 8 years
- Riders and non-riders 5-12 years old 30% off, based on 2 adults sharing with children
- Children 13 and over - full adult price
- Children 4 years and under - free, sharing with adults. An adult should be present to supervise non-riding children. English speaking babysitter available at 8 Euros per hour

- Weight limit 15 stone (95kg)
- The holiday price is for a seven night riding holiday, excluding those extras set out below, arriving Sunday afternoon departing Sunday morning. Holidays are run during May and June and September and October. The price is based on sharing a double, twin bed or triple bed room. The full board price includes all meals. You are guaranteed a minimum of 16 hours riding.
