Then
spend a week riding your prospective purchase at Epona. If you are thinking
of buying an Andalucian horse the best place to do it is in Andalucia,
the land in which they have been bred for hundreds of years.
Because they are so rare in other countries, they tend to be expensive and not often of good quality. For the price of a very ordinary Andalucian purchased outside Spain, you can usually get a true pure bred Spanish horse, all your travel expenses and the cost of getting the horse home.
Usually there are one or two Andalucians for sale, under training with Jane and Fernando at Epona. But if those they have don't suit your needs, just let us know what you're looking for (stallion, mare or gelding, ridden and/or driven, high school or basically trained, registered or not and any colour and age).
Fernando will get in touch with all the breeders and trainers he knows across Andalucia. He will then build a shortlist of horses that fit your description and send you a video tape for viewing. If there are one or two that interest you, go out to Epona for a week and examine and ride them.
Jane and Fernando will help you with the language, travelling around from stud to stud, negotiation, vet checks, arranging transportation and providing meals and accommodation while you are there.
